SUMMARY:Cloudy Bay New 2018 Vintage UK Launch plus 2006 & 2010
DESCRIPTION:Hosted by Winemaker Daniel Sorrell. \n“In 2018\, we have made a wine that tells the story of our vineyards\, our culture and the quality of our fruit.  There are challenges in any year\, but we have learnt over many years that focus in the vineyard is the key to a delicious wine.”  Jim White\, Technical Director \nThe 2018 Vintage \nBlenheim\, New Zealand\, 13.08.2018 – Cloudy Bay released its 34th vintage 2018 Sauvignon Blanc.  The 2018 growing season began in fine style\, with settled conditions and no frost\, leading to an early budburst and successful flowering.  Warm and dry conditions through December encouraged flourishing canopy growth and good potential crop levels.  Cooler weather from January onwards allowed for more steady ripening.  Harvest commenced on March 21st and was completed on April 5th.  Fruit was picked with ripe flavours\, good concentration and great acidity. \nAppellation Marlborough Wine – Launched June 2018 \nThe Cloudy Bay Sauvignon Blanc vineyards are located in the heart of the Wairau Valley in Marlborough. In June 2018\, Cloudy Bay became one of the founder members of Appellation Marlborough Wine – an organisation designed to protect the integrity\, authenticity and brand value of wines produced here. Sauvignon made under the AMW banner must be: 100% from Marlborough\, made from lower-yielding vines; made and bottled in New Zealand. \nAbout Cloudy Bay \nCloudy Bay was established in 1985 by David Hohnen\, a pioneer and visionary\, who was convinced of New Zealand great potential.  The winery was among the first five to be established in Marlborough\, the country’s finest wine region\, and is now highly regarded for the quality and consistency of its range.  Thirty years later\, Cloudy Bay remains NZ’s most recognised winery.  Sauvignon Blanc is the Estate’s flagship grape variety.  Cloudy Bay also produces a Chardonnay\, a Pinot Noir and a sparkling wine: Pelorus.

SUMMARY:Jackson Family Wines Collection VÉRITÉ 2015 UK Presentation
DESCRIPTION:Vérité produces wines without compromise\, wines that reflect the terroir in which they are grown. The name Vérité comes from the French word for truth. The wines are a combination of old-world experience and new-world fruit. Vigneron Pierre Seillan\, Vérité’s first and only winemaker\, is a man who understands and appreciates the importance of the land. He is intimately involved in every step of the winegrowing process from bud break to bottling. Since the winery’s founding in 1998\, Pierre has identified more than 40 micro-crus along the western slopes of the Mayacamas Mountain Range in Sonoma County. These micro-crus are actually small vineyards within vineyards\, a palette of soil types. Hand farmed for extremely low yields\, they produce wines of exceptional quality and character. Vérité wines represent a meticulously formed union of grape varieties\, climate\, soil expression and winemaking technique. Pierre refers to this methodology as droit du sol\, “right of the soil.” Each vintage the winery releases three Bordeaux-inspired blends: La Muse (Merlot-based)\, La Joie (Cabernet Sauvignon-based) and Le Désir (Cabernet Franc-based). While all three wines are impeccably balanced and sumptuously textured in their youth\, they have the weight and foundation to age for many years. \n  \nRSVP MILLY WIGGIN or FIONA LOW – fi@luxxpr.co.uk milly@luxxpr.co.uk

SUMMARY:Wine Australia - Off the Vine
DESCRIPTION:Whether it’s bold and innovative techniques in the vineyards\, pushing winemaking boundaries or experimentation with non-traditional varieties\, Australia’s new breed of winemakers have a fresh attitude and approach. \nFollowing the success and disruptive impact of the Artisans of Australia tasting in September 2016\, we’re back this September with a new iteration of this ground-breaking event. \nThis tasting will introduce you to some of Australia’s most pioneering winemakers and their exciting\, diverse styles of wines. Nearly 50 winemakers and winery owners will be flying in from Australia to pour their wines and share their stories. \nWe’re calling the event ‘Off the Vine’ as the producers are a bit ‘off the wall’ in respects to breaking traditions and the tasting features brand new releases and new styles – many not seen before in the UK – that are almost straight off the vine.

SUMMARY:Wine Australia - Mornington Peninsula Wines tasting
DESCRIPTION:September 2018 will see a talented group of winemakers from the Mornington Peninsula in Victoria\, Australia\, return to the UK for a series of tastings and masterclasses promoting the region\, its wines and its personalities. \nThe group of nine illustrious wineries includes Crittenden Estate\, Kooyong\, Moorooduc Estate\, Ocean Eight\, Paringa Estate\, Polperro\, Port Phillip Estate\, Stonier\, Ten Minutes by Tractor and Yabby Lake Vineyard.  They first came to the UK as a group to promote the region in 2016 and due to the success of their visit\, are returning with new stories to tell\, new wines to taste and more people to meet.  Focusing on Pinot Noir and Chardonnay\, the main event on Thursday 6th September will start with an intimate masterclass hosted by Australian expert Matthew Jukes\, followed by a free-pour trade tasting in the afternoon where all the wineries will be showcasing a selection of wines. \nThe combination of powerhouse pioneers\, winemakers\, owners\, legends and the ‘next-generation’\, will certainly create a buzz in the trade as they make their way across the UK.  The wineries on tour have ambitious aspirations and will be engaging further with trade and consumers in events across the south east including Vinoteca\, 67 Pall Mall\, The Wine Society and The Harrow at Little Bedwyn. \nMornington Peninsula is less than an hour’s drive south-east of Melbourne and enjoys a cool\, maritime climate\, which is evident in the world-class wines it produces. These award-winning wines are predominantly made from Pinot Noir and Chardonnay\, although some cool-climate styles of Shiraz and Pinot Gris are also produced.  With smaller\, family-run wineries dominating the wine scene in this small region\, the focus is on quality\, character\, elegance and longevity. \nMatthew Jukes says\, “It is very exciting to be welcoming back the Mornington Peninsula winemakers to the UK as this is one of the elite wine regions in the world and the wines on tasting will further underline the incredible standard of Chardonnay and Pinot Noir produced in this idyllic peninsula.”  \n
