In a wide-ranging interview, Ellen will talk about the Swiss wine industry – its regions, grape varieties and wine styles and the key issues that confront producers in Switzerland today: the challenge of marketing Swiss wines in the light of changing drinking habits and falling consumption, the vine pull programme, the quality of the last three harvests, the rise of interest in organic, natural wines and other wine-based consumer products and the latest research in the vineyard and winery. A hot topic will be the new government decision not to tie imports to consumption levels of Swiss wines.

Ellen Wallace, a former news journalist and publisher, has been writing about Swiss wine for 30 years. She is the author of the introductory Vineglorious, Switzerland’s Wondrous World of Wine (2014) and the Swiss bestseller Wine Hiking Switzerland (2022), available in 3 languages.
