Colin Harkness started in the wine industry in the late 1980s when he studied the WSET before opening a restaurant. Since then, he moved to Spain where he has developed a specialism in Spanish wine regions and is a frequent wine judge and the IWSC’s Spanish Ambassador.
Colin founded the wine column for an English-language regional newspaper group, for whom he wrote for over 20 years, and contributed to many magazines in both the Spanish and English languages. Colin has also presented short regional TV series on wine, been a guest on several radio stations and hosted his own wine show. He currently presents a monthly Wine Show on www.valleyfm.es.
In 2021, Colin and his wife Claire-Marie Soprano travelled Spain, France and Italy in their motorhome, and have spent most of 2022 working on river cruises in the Netherlands, France and Germany — with Claire singing and Colin as the wine presenter and quiz/games master!
