Lucia Porto is a journalist and advertising professional. One of the founding partners of Brasil de Vinhos – the only online newspaper in Brazil specializing in Brazilian wines – she has a diploma in sommellerie from ABS-RS, WSET 2 and a winemaker from the Grupo Miolo course.
She has judged competitions including Brazil Wine Challenge, Brazilian Sparkling Wine Competition (Concurso do Espumante Brasileiro), Brazilian Grape Juice Competition (Concurso do Suco de Uva Brasileiro), EMBRAPA’s Lorena Selection and as a commentator in the National Wine Evaluation (Avaliação Nacional de Vinhos). She is also a member of APROLEMOS and is part of FIJEV. In 2025, she visited at least 16 Brazilian wine regions and is currently working on the finalization of a book of questions and answers about Brazilian wine.
