Occitanie Wine School launches series of educational videos

During these quiet months, Bureau de la Région Occitanie UK has been busy on its new initiative to support wine trade professionals who haven’t had the usual essential tastings, training and travel to enjoy. A new series of Occitanie Wine School videos has been swiftly filmed, to let them watch and learn anytime, anywhere in just five to ten minutes.

Each video is a compact, fast facts guide on an individual appellation, and intends to add something fresh and inspiring to everyone’s experience of selling and enjoying Occitanie wines. The 11 free online videos will be released from 3 November, weekly until mid-January via YouTube ‘Occitanie Wine School’ and www.suddefrance.co.uk.

They can be enjoyed equally as a handy refresher for experienced sommeliers, and wine retail staff to enhance their knowledge, as well as by curious wine and travel consumers wishing to explore the diversity of Occitanie.  Matthew Stubbs MW gives essential facts on soil to climate, through to history and tasting, and they conclude with illustrative wine styles to taste, to bring to life the personality of each appellation. They include Limoux, Picpoul de Pinet, Lirac, Cahors, Pays d’Oc and more.  Viewers can start the series anytime or with any episode, but those who follow the series as each video is released will have the chance to win a bottle of wine at end of each episode after answering a short questionnaire.
