Chris Foulkes is an editor and publisher specialising in wine. With Carrie Segrave, he runs Segrave Foulkes Publishers – also Berry Bros. & Rudd Press in partnership with the London wine merchants. BB&R Press publishes Inside Burgundy by Jasper Morris (2010; second edition 2021) and Inside Bordeaux by Jane Anson (2020), plus other titles and ebooks.
Chris began publishing as head of Mitchell Beazley’s wine division in 1980, and by 1992 had published more than 40 books – several still in print today – with authors such as Hugh Johnson, Jancis Robinson and the late Michael Broadbent.
Segrave Foulkes Publishers began in 1992, and created the original Larousse Encyclopedia of Wine and the Broadbent/Duijker Bordeaux Atlas, among many other titles.
Chris began his career as a newspaper journalist and started writing on wine in the 1970s. He has served on the Circle Committee three times, and was Chairman from 1990 until 1992.
