Maggie joined the wine trade in 1973 working for for International Distillers and Vintners (now part of Diageo), and as wine buyer for British Transport Hotels and the Mal Maison Wine Club.
Since becoming Master of Wine in 1986, she has worked as a wine consultant, organising wine lists and writing PR. Maggie has a wealth of experience in all aspects of the trade. She lectures on the trade examination courses, and for fun, across the UK, Ireland and North America.
Her top specialities include the Rhone, South of France and Germany, Champagne; about which she has written a book published by Faber and Faber, and Greece; where she spent most of the 90s, advising the Greek government on the updating of their wine industry.
