New Member: Marisa Finetti

After journalism school, Marisa became a grape grower in California’s Dry Creek Valley AVA for 10 years. But, it was in a Las Vegas dining room where her sparkle and appreciation for the world of wine was ignited. Today, her passion for writing centers around lesser-known, native grapes – particularly from Italy – and terroir-driven wine travel.

Marisa travels often to meet with producers to connect with their passion for their land. Her work can be found at Decanter, David, and Modern Luxury magazines, among others. Her website, marisafinetti.com, features original stories, as well as her wine sketches (#MarisasWineDoodles), for which she has been recognized for their whimsical twist on wine communication.

In addition to her Bachelor of Science degree in Journalism, she also holds a WSET 3 certification and is a Certified Piedmont Food & Wine Specialist through The Italian International Indigenous Wine and Food Studies Center (3iC). In 2020 she was recognized by Millésima Awards for Best Wine Travel story.

We welcome Marisa to the Circle and look forward to publishing her news and features soon!
