Steven Spurrier is publishing his memoirs with Adelphi, set for release at the end of May. Wine, a Way of Life follows Spurrier’s long and esteemed career in the wine industry, recalling memories from age 13 and his very first sip of Cockburn’s 1908 through to the relaunch of the Academie du Vin in Paris in 2016.
A formidable professional in the wine industry, Spurrier’s career spans over 50 years and he has worked as a merchant, educator, wine consultant, writer, editor and − in his latest chapter − proprietor of an English vineyard. He has been a member of the Circle of Wine Writers since 1985 and included in his memoirs is an annex chapter entitled ‘The Teachers (WSET), the Scholars (MWs), the Writers (CWW), the Thinkers (AIV) and the Drinkers (The Saintsbury Club)’.
Wine, a Way of Life will be available from the end of May for £20 in major bookshops.
